BMW K 40 “The Black Brick”
This conversion was a personal matter of particular importance to me. The history of its creation
of this extraordinary motorcycle is as remarkable as the conversion itself. It began with a tragic event,
when my father was seriously injured and in a coma. In this extremely stressful situation, we had to make immediate decisions in the hospital.
Uncertainty and fear dominated us until the attending physician began to calm us down in a conversation.
He asked about our professions,
and when I mentioned that I build motorcycles, he revealed that he himself had an interest in them, and also to a lesser extent
During the course of the conversation, an unexpected familiarity developed and I gave him
the operating room a promise: If he saved my father, I would build him a motorcycle.
This spontaneous promise was fulfilled by Jan, who successfully treated my father and saved his life. Today it is
my father is well again, and Jan has become a good friend.
The day of fulfilling this promise came, and with it the conversion began on the basis of a BMW K 75. The collaboration with Jan,
who also had a passion for unconventional projects, proved to be extremely enriching.
The conversion, as unique as it was, required a lot of time and patience, but as the saying goes: good things take time.
Why BMW K 40?
To mark the 40th anniversary of the BMW K models, we present our exclusive custom-made model – a tribute to the long tradition
and the innovative spirit of the BMW K-series.
What could be more obvious than to name this special project “K40”?
The K40 is a complete redesign based on the K75 and is one of the most extraordinary conversions in our custom workshop.
With the BMW K40, we have created an extraordinary one-of-a-kind model that creates a link between past and present – a classic motorcycle that is reinterpreted through modern design and outstanding craftsmanship.
Our goal was to transform the popular K 75 into a unique one-off that had never been seen before. Here are some highlights:
Carburettor technology instead of injection system:
A groundbreaking decision that really sets the bike apart.
Design innovations:
Integration of the angular engine design into the intake manifold, tank, seat and LED headlights.
New cooling system:
The traditional cooler was replaced by a central solution to maintain the overall appearance.
Chassis & wheels:
Modern technology combined with classic 18-inch spoke wheels.
Minimal Electronics:
High-quality components and intensive collaboration for perfect function.
Individual adjustments:
Footrests, superbike handlebars and tailor-made details for optimal riding comfort.
Colouring:
Elegant black gloss with a touch of GIVE-Green, instead of the classic BMW colors.
This project has not only produced a unique motorcycle, but also created great friendships.
