Honda CB 1000 F / / In possession of the owner since 1978.
The Goldwing is in completely original condition, in an almost new condition
and is, according to the owner, one of the best in the
The same motorcycles from the first series that remained in Europe.
Description
The Honda has been in the owner's possession since mid-1978, is second-hand and was hardly driven until 1983.
From 1983 to 2014 it was stored in a dry and dust-free place. The engine, cylinders, paint, frame, gearbox and exhaust were protected with preservative oil. Even the exhaust was preserved with oil on the inside.
From mid-2014 to mid-2015, the Goldwing was completely dismantled, with the exception of the engine block, gearbox and final drive. Everything was checked and necessary repair work was carried out.
Original paint “Candy Blue Green PB-2 CS” in immaculate condition as well as the seat and the exhaust
In total, around 1,400 working hours and several thousand euros were invested in new parts for the repair work.
A folder was created with over 400 pictures of the restoration work and all the invoices. This means that everything can be documented.
The Goldwing GL1000 K1 is in its original condition, almost as good as new, and is, in the owner's opinion, one of the best of the same first series motorcycles left in Europe.
award
This vehicle was voted in December 2015 in the NGW Forum USA ("Naked Goldwings Club" with 12-13,000 members) among 12 award-winning competitors with an overwhelming majority (29%) as "Bike of the Year 2016"
Story
Honda wanted to create a heavy motorcycle with the Goldwing and used a water-cooled 4-cylinder boxer engine. A fuel pump was also used and the fuel tank was placed under the seat. The space between the saddle and the steering head, which had previously been used as a fuel tank on motorcycles, offered space for electronics, air filters, on-board tools and a radiator expansion tank on the Goldwing. The secondary drive became a cardan shaft and the electrical system was designed for 12 volts so that car accessories could be used. The prototype was presented at a motorcycle fair in Cologne in 1974.
The motorcycle is owned by the owner in the Netherlands and can be viewed there by appointment.
